We are seeking a dental assistant to join our amazing team at our single-doctor owned & operated practice in the heart of Prairie Village. We pride ourselves on the highest-quality treatment and excellent customer service while still maintaining a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere for patients and staff. Our team provides treatment in all areas of general dentistry to patients of all ages, including Invisalign, Cerec same-day crowns, implant placement, and some pediatric dentistry. We are 100% digital, use Dentrix software and Dexis imaging (training available if unfamiliar with Dentrix). Office hours are Monday-Wednesday 7:45am-5pm, and Thursdays 6:45am-3pm (early Thursdays & 3-day weekends!)
Compensation based on experience. Our team is AWESOME here and we are truly seeking someone with a fun personality and team-first mentality to add to the fun atmosphere we like to keep here. This position will be for our second dental assistant position. Primary responsibilities will be chairside assisting but secondary duties will also include extra help with sterilization, reception and administrative tasks – flexibility and willingness to learn is a huge plus! Health Insurance is not currently provided through the business. However, we are happy to discuss additional compensation to match the expense of individually acquired health insurance.
Responsibilities
Greet and escort patients to & from reception area, prepare patients for treatment, explain procedures, ensure patient comfort while assisting chairside, provide post-operative instructions, and ensure excellent communication with patients and between team members.
Maintain a clean, organized environment, keep dental operatories organized and well-stocked, and ensure proper instrument sterilization. Set up and break down instruments, equipment and materials for each procedure.
Maintain accurate patient clinical records and treatment notes
Help create and present treatment plans to patients
Oversee submitting & receiving of lab cases, and complete limited in-house lab work (Cerec crowns, pour models, whitening trays, retainers)
Schedule appointments
Help as needed with reception duties, including processing of payments, answering phones and patient texts, patient scheduling, and gain an understanding of the insurance claims process
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience in the dental office
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments and sterilization methods
Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable
Proficiency with Dentrix (or willingness to train to become proficient)
Completion of an accredited dental assistant program is preferred but not required.
